GYROKINESIS® is a movement system that uses gentle, flowing, rhythmic movements aligned with the breath.
It conditions the body and increases core strength by connecting the deep pelvic floor muscles.
It follows the natural fascial lines that connect muscles in the body, to increase movement efficiency and coordination.
The GYROKINESIS® movement method was invented by Juliu Horvath, a ballet dancer, in the late 1970s. After sustaining a serious injury, he studied movement and energy work for 6 years drawing from many traditions, until he first started teaching "Yoga for Dancers" to other dancers in NYC. Now in his 70s, he continues to teach and refine the method, and GYROKINESIS® exercise evolved to be suitable for people of all backgrounds and ages.
